Your new bindings may fit great right out of the box but sometimes some fine tuning may need to be done. Snowboard bindings can be fine tuned by adjusting the length of the straps or adjusting the way the highback sits. The straps can be adjusted to be longer or shorter pending the situation; this comes in handy if the binding fits overall but the straps are not fitting 100% to your likeness. These can also be adjusted to get a bit more life out of a binding if your boot size grows. High backs can be adjusted to put the rider in more of a leaned position and in some cases can be adjusted back more to allow more room for a bigger boot to allow some growth.
