What about ladies sizes? I’m looking for the fit of a Salomon XS helmet… right now I’m considering the Icon Origins Custom Air. I can’t seem to find any Salomon helmet size chart that includes an XS size range. My head measures 53cm/21in.

Otherwise, thank you for the very useful information on your site!

      Megann,

An X-Small in the Origins helmets equates to a 54-55cm, while the XXS is a 53-54. If you are interested in the XXS please call us and we can check with Salomon to see if it is available.

What about a 4 year old little girl size?

    • Kevin Palmer says:

      Jaysautos,

It’s very difficult to provide a size based on age. I recommend that you need measure her head circumference in centimeters. I’ve had 4 yrs olds that end up in an adult medium helmet before. Measure her head and then look at the sizing chart on the page of the product you’re interested in. Hope this helps you.

This is an awesome site. I am having the nanny measure my 10 yr old’s head right now. Friends were bringing in used ones to me at work for her to try but she has a giant brain and they were all too small. This sizing information is awesome, it solves the mystery.

Wish sizing was stardard for all the different companies. My head (above the ears) measures 22 inches. I’d like to have room for a light weight head cover (snowmobilers use) when skiing in sub-zero weather. Would you suggest the large?

    • Chris Gorski says:

      Deb,

We apologize for the timeliness of this reply but we look forward to helping you with your question. In your case the recommendation would be to go with the large due to the head cover you will be wearing. There still is a chance that with this cover it may be a bit big but this is the least likely scenario rather than going too small. The main thing is to ensure it is comfortable once you receive it and you have the chinstrap adjusted to fit you. Hopefully this helps answer your question.

Please contact us with any more questions or concerns.

      Thanks,

      Chris Gorski
